Questions & Answers Applying for a Visa:
  • How does the visa be reprinted after approval?

    1. 1. Login to the account on the website.
    2. 2. Search for a visa application.
    3. 3. Fill at least one field (travel document number).
    4. 4. Click “view visa details” button then “generate PDF” button.
  • How the visa application and the payment receipt reprinted?

    1. After successfully Applying and paying for your Visa, a copy of the Visa application and the payment receipt is sent to the registered e-mail (in which your visa has been applied from), and if needed you can print it from there.
  • What types of visas are available on the eVisa system?

    1. 1. Unsponsored tourist visa.
    2. 2. Sponsored tourist visa.
    3. 3. Tourist visa for GCC residents.
    4. 4. Express visa.
  • How long is the visa valid before use?

    1. 1. One month for Unsponsored.
    2. 2. Three months for sponsored tourist visa.
    3. 3. One month for express visa.
  • How to re-apply when requesting more information?

    1. 1. Login to the account on the website.
    2. 2. Go to the Visa Application Inquiry.
    3. 3. Choose the request you want to modify and add the data.
    4. 4. Then add a comment and resubmit.
  • When the company submits an accreditation request and entering the company registration number, a note appears: (there are no documents)?

    1. Make sure that the company is registered in the system before applying for the accreditation from the Directorate General of Passports and Residence.
  • When selecting the accreditation type, the admin not allowed to apply for visa and a note appears: (This action is not allowed)

    1. Must choose “Admin and PRO”.
  • When applying for a visa, a note appears (the sponsor has been pending)

    1. Must update the sponsor details (activation) and change data such as email, telephone number and company name. When the same note appears, please go and check with Directorate General of Passports and Residence.
  • How long does it take to get an e-Visa?

    1. Once the application is submitted with the complete information, it will be processed within the shortest possible time. However, it is recommended to lodge your Visa Application at least 4 days in advance as processing times might vary based on each Visa Application.
  • How can a tourist travelling by road get a visa at the land border post?

    1. Applicants must apply for a tourist visa via the visa website https://evisa.rop.gov.om/ then enter Oman by any legal boarders.
  • Is the visa free for someone coming from Dubai / Qatar?

    1. Yes, the joint visa with Dubai / Qatar is free, provided the traveler is coming to Oman directly from Dubai / Qatar. Both of these visas are obtainable by paper application not online. Apply for it: http://www.rop.gov.om/old/english/dg_pr_visas_dubai.asp
  • How can someone travel from Dubai to Oman?

    1. If you are a GCC resident: you can travel using Visa Type 29A (GCC Resident Tourist Visa) if you’re the main traveler with an approved profession, or Visa Type 29B if you’re the companion of the main traveler.
      If you don’t have a residency in GCC, then you’ll have to apply for the Dubai/Oman Joint Visa applied through one of the Oman’s embassy offices or via tourist travel agencies and can enter through the airport or through Hatta Border and Visa duration has to be valid for at least 21 days pre-entry to Oman, For more info: (http://www.rop.gov.om/old/english/dg_pr_visas_agcc.asp)
  • Is the visa available at Oman's border posts with the UAE by paper application form?

    1. eVisa is your gateway to obtaining your visa and entering Oman, and this is to ensure you wouldn’t face issues or delays when arriving to the Sultanate. However, especially in this early stage, the paper application form will also be available for exceptional cases.


General Questions:
  • Is the electronic visa application available in German language?

    1. No, so far it's only available in Arabic and English.
  • How can an elder get an electronic visa if they have no computer or access to Internet?

    1. They can seek the help of somebody who is familiar with the Internet, or of a tourist travel office. The online visa system is an international requirement, which everyone must be adapted to.
  • Is there a visa office at the airport during the transitional period?

    1. Yes, there will be an office at the airport to process visa applications.
  • Is there a joint account for obtaining an e-visa for somebody else?

    1. Anybody can fill and submit an e-visa application for anybody else.
  • What is the minimum allowed Normal Passport Expiry date to enter the country?

    1. A normal passport should be at least 6 month valid prior to entering Oman.
  • Is there any change in the tourist visa for seafarers, cruise ship passengers?

    1. Visas of seafarers and cruise ship passengers are still obtainable by the traditional system.
